"Christian discipleship" simply means following Jesus Christ. We do this by exploring who God is and who He calls us to be, and then living this out in community with others. There are many opportunities to grow in this kind of relationship with God at Ontario First, including Sunday School, in-depth Bible studies, care groups, mentoring, and Wednesday night ministries.
Care groups are small groups of people who meet regularly throughout the school year to connect with each other and with God through time in God's Word, friendship, prayer, and encouragement. Families in our church generally host these groups in their homes. Care groups run steadily from September through May, then have the option of meeting infrequently during the summer. Contact the church office at 541-889-2155 for additional information.
Sunday School is a place to grow and mature in relationship with God, and with the people around us, by exploring and applying the principles taught by Jesus Christ. There are classes for children and youth on Sunday mornings also, so this is an excellent time for families. Click here to read about current Sunday School classes for adults.
For those seeking a strong foundation in the Christian faith, mentors lead groups of 3-4 adults who commit to meet each week for Bible study, friendship, celebration and challenge. Robert and Karen provide guidance for this ministry, and can answer any questions about it. Call the church office at 541-889-2155 if you would like to contact Robert or Karen.
Wednesday nights offer something for all ages during the school year. Activities can include Dinner ($1.50 per person/ $6 per family), Financial Peace University and various Bible studies. Contact the church office at 541-889-2155 for additional information.
There is a men's Bible study on the topic of Evangelism, led by Robert, for those seeking more in-depth study. This group meets on Mondays at 6:30am in the Weiser River Room of Holy Rosary Hospital.
In all of these things, our goal is to follow Jesus, together!
